The Easiest Way to Make Sure You Don't Quit
Put yourself in a place to serve... service pays more dividends than you know. Let me explain.
New here? Click HERE for why I’m doing this weekly letter.
Need to catch up?
Want to make sure you don’t quit from something you know you need to follow through on?
Be of service.
On the surface, that’s a very simple concept that I’m sure many of you already feel you fulfill.
However, how do we ensure consistency and growing our service to others into a much wider impact… which ultimately leads us to further personal development and expanding our purpose?
We take our skills and talents
Invest in a medium of delivery to the people we can help and serve
Promote that medium to the world
Remain open for the people to respond
Respond back to an ever increasing or developing initiative because it has taken a life of its own.
Let me give you an example:
Over the past 2.5 months I started using a texting platform to connect with my audience. I send weekly texts that fuel the soul or drive them to really great morning messages featured at my 10-min podcast, The Niche Is You (Apple, Spotify).
The goal…
Help people trust themselves more… their path, their intuition, their creativity, their passions, their relationships and God. You can join my weekly texts for free here.
The outcome…
It grows daily and I now have more than 325 people in that texting community.
It’s an all around investment on my part, but something I cannot quit from.
I invest my time, energy and money, but the community grows, the people let me know what it’s doing for them and the feedback is so strong that I couldn’t possibly quit from something that is making an impact on others’ lives.
That, and it just feels good and right.
Another great example is my podcast that I mentioned above… The Niche Is You.
The goal…
I started with the initiative of creating short, quick hitting thoughts that help you un-complicate life, love, business and really the pursuit of yourself.
They come out every Tuesday and Thursday morning, although I’m considering going to 5-days per week.
When I first started, I was having resistance to launching because of “all the work” I thought this would entail and I didn’t want to get burnt out.
However, I knew this was the right thing to do so I did the following:
Thought about how to deliver this timely, consistent and without overwhelm.
Created a process and template that I could follow each week.
Scheduled the time for myself to create each episode, which is really like doing a personal journal if you want my real take on the matter.
Batched the episodes ahead of time and then pre-loaded them into my podcast hosting provider to be published on specific days.
The outcome…
My podcast is growing daily at rate that will surpass monthly downloads from my bigger podcast, The Hustle Sold Separately within the next 6 months.
The audience is resonating so strongly with the messaging that they are listening and sharing at higher rates than I anticipated.
It’s growing, and as usual, when something good grows and it resonates with you so strongly, you cannot quit from it… in part because it’s serving others, and in part because it’s serving your soul.
As a side note… because I leaned into a calling to serve and took time to figure out how to do so with a smart approach, I not only didn’t become overwhelmed by time with the initiative… I gained back more time. I’m achieving more in less time while helping others get more of what they need and want… but more on that in another letter.
Before I get into this week’s Simplify, Multiply, Diversify, let me condense the above into three things you can do to ensure you don’t quit 👇🏼
To Trick the Mind From Quitting, We Need to Establish a Medium of Exchange That Grows a Purpose
In short, if you want to help others, use a “platform” to streamline your communication, deliver your value or support and make it become something others rely on.
Their reliance on your value ensures two things… you won’t quit and they support you right back.
Another important side note… don’t let yourself burn out…
There are also occasional seasons where the time dedicated to one initiative might be coming to an end so you can expand on another one… don’t be afraid to communicate to the people you’ve been serving that you’re going to potentially start moving in a new direction.
The truth is, they too, may be ready for your new initiatives… that’s the power of community and serving at scale.👇🏼
Serve and the Numbers Will Follow…
Service doesn’t have to be non-profit. It certainly can be, but service is overdelivering on value to give the people more of what they want, and in turn, provides more of what you need.
When we put “being of service” at the forefront, especially in business, we’re ensuring that the value we deliver is so uniquely empowering to the receiver of that service, that they’ll pay us in kind for more of what we have to offer.
When we put service first, people naturally follow because they can feel your passion for helping… they begin to understand this is something you’ve experienced first hand and you want others to feel more comforted in their journey of dealing with similar experiences.
When we put service first, people will naturally pay for your products and services because they want to support you right back for helping them. This is the law of reciprocity… the law of giving and receiving.
God doesn’t want you to suffer… He wants you to be of service and the gifts will follow… to not worry how it will provide but to do and have provision come forth.
At least that’s my spiritual take on the matter.
👇🏼
Being of Service is Your Gateway to More Personal Development
The truth… it’s not just about the people you serve but the person you are constantly evolving into.
When we teach, we are also forwarding knowledge that we are consistently learning in the pursuit of our own selves.
Want to understand concepts, theories, mental models, business, marketing, life, love, relationships, health and more… be a student and a teacher at the same time.
Constantly be learning for yourself so you can teach others what you’re learning in the process.
The formula is simple… we cannot live, nor serve from the sidelines. It is the act of doing and pursuing that expands our capacity to learn, grow and earn in our lives.
TL;DR
The best way to ensure you won’t quit from something is to be of service
A smart, structured approach allows you to deliver value in mass without burning out
To trick the mind from quitting, we need to establish a medium of exchange that grows a purpose… think social media platform, newsletter, podcast or YouTube Channel.
Serve and the numbers will follow
Service doesn’t have to be non-profit. We’re here to serve professionally and personally
When we put service first, people naturally follow because they can feel your passion for helping
Being of service is your gateway to more personal development… mind, body, soul and income
Simplify, Multiply, Diversify below…👇🏼
SIMPLIFY…
Don’t do everything for everyone. Do exactly what you’re called to do for who’s meant to receive it and you’ll reach even more people than you can imagine.
Translation:
Being everything to everyone will burn you out. That, and you may only reach a small fraction of people within each category of activity.
Do exactly what you’re called to do and it becomes more centrally focused, which in turn hits the masses faster and grows your initiatives into other categories.
MULTIPLY…
Being of service multiplies the greater good for all. The people we serve get their needs and wants met, which makes for a more sustainable, thriving life… and we get our needs and wants met, which makes for a more sustainable, thriving life.
DIVERSIFY…

Amazing letter as always!
I'm one of those people that has benefited greatly from the fact that you operate in service to others. And the example you set of consistency, growth, and transparency has been incredible to watch as well.
I wanted to say thanks for the breakdown on the platforms. I haven't seen anything like that before and the understanding in regards to the why and how to use new ones is incredibly helpful.
On to the next letter! I can't believe I've gotten behind on these. They're SO GOOD!!!
This letter resonates so deeply!!
I really love this message & honestly I have always operated in this way of being of service first & foremost. It was the business side of things that was completely foreign to me. It felt weird to raise my rates as my sessions evolved into what they are today. This “weird” feeling was an invitation to look at & rewrite my money story! The journey of coming to know your true value could be a whole other letter! 😊😉
But, my clients have always been able to feel my passion, compassion, love & genuineness. I didn’t lose any clients when I raised my rates and it was a significant increase!! Open communication was key here also. I was so supported!
I am constantly getting referrals from people whom I have deeply served! Just like you said, “serve & the numbers will follow” So very true!
Therefore I will never stop “doing the work” to make sure that I am growing, remaining open, operating from the heart, following my own intuition, connecting to source & evolving.
Really great letter Matt! Thank you!
